As a resume

Born in Viña del Mar, Chile.

He studies in his native country, the one he left during the Pinochet military dictatorship.

Try your luck in different European cities  settling down  in Aachen.

At the university of this German city he studies Romance Philology (Literature, Linguistics) and Comparative Literature (Imagology).

After getting a PhD with a thesis on "Chilean animal speech", he obtained a post as Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Linguistics, dedicating himself to teaching the structure of the language and applied semiotics.

 

It is in this last field where he develops the idea of a minimalist graphic whose recognition limit is marked by intuition. Two aspects appeared as problematic when it came to advancing in the work: one had to do with the bad reputation of intuition; a concept considered until not long ago "unscientific" and the other with the lack of humor with which academic works were characterized by those latitudes.

 

Modern psychology helped to allay the qualms about intuition, an extensive bibliography showed that the popular "hunch" was a not inconsiderable source of knowledge. The dilemma of scientific seriousness had a more trivial solution: with retirement came an unexpected casualness.

This is how things were and as time went by, some minimal, meager figures appeared, scarce in detail, which he called little monitos , because that is how they called cartoons when he was a child, back in his native land.
